| FLEMINGTON : MELBOURNE CUP - 3rd NOVEMBER 2026 |
| Track: SOFT(6) - Weather: SHOWERS - Rail: OUT 3M |
| Betting Portfolio ($100): Track raced perfectly here on Derby Day despite the wind and storms, the track stayed as a GOOD(4) and although it did favour those with some cover and running on late, the best horses won as evidenced by the string of well backed favourites saluting in just about every race. Much to the delight of the younger generation of capped punters and their short-priced favourite multis. Fair bit of rain forecast for Monday and this track should stay rain affected and in the SOFT range for Cup Day and they will continue to be winning down the middle of the track. Outside rail was clearly faster on Saturday and that is likely to continue today. We fully admit it has been an absolute shocker of a spring for the Turf Deli selections, not a single winner on top on Derby Day, but then again we are not into the habit of backing favourites, especially not at under $3, so it was never going to be our day. Melbourne Cup day is always a much tougher ask with lots of value winners. Forget those corporate bookmaker QR code offers, the hottest ticket in town this spring is our Lay (Pays) Of the Day which are on a hot winning streak of 5 out of the last 6. We have a really nice mix of win bets, each way bets and roughies for Melbourne Cup day and there is sure to be some big dividends especially in the early races with big fields, so box up those trifectas and quinellas. Suggested bets is doubled to $100 again and a bet in every race for those playing along on Cup Day. Melbourne Cup feature race preview at the bottom of this post. Tips for Oaks Day will be posted Thursday morning. BEST WIN: Race 3: 2-STAR OF MACEDON $10 WIN QUINELLA Race 3: 2-STAR OF MACEDON#4,5,8 x $6 = 200% This one was scratched on Saturday from a Group race which was a shame because we thought it would have gone close to winning. Strong finishing type who has always shown potential and was flashing home late last start at Caulfield on a track that was favouring those on-speed. Does tend to drop back in his races, but up in distance to 1800M suits, small field and them coming off the rails will allow horses to run on and win and he looks perfectly suited here. Back straight out at around $3.50 and anchor in a quinella with the 8-FRINGILLA who was also scratched Saturday for this, the 4-GILGEOUS who may be over the odds sticking on on-speed and the 5-CAB FRANC who was tough on-speed last start. BEST WIN: Race 8: 13-MR NATURAL $10 WIN Lightly raced one who is showing a lot of potential and launched a mighty finish to win his maiden before coming from last at Geelong last start and going past the whole field, except for the leader who led all the way and kicked clear on a leaders track. That was a massive run and another who will be suited here today running on late on a big Flemington track and with a suitable race pattern. Straight out at around $5. BEST EACH WAY: Race 5: 2-ATHABASCAN $5 EW QUINELLA: Race 5: 2,4,9,13,18 x $5 boxed = 50% Capacity field for the 2800M staying races and plenty of value runners here. Normally we want to go with those down in the weights and lightly raced on the way up in this race, but this one is a really tough stayer who is well suited here. Fitter for the 3 runs in and he was coming home well last start and should be ready to win now and get back to his best, which includes 4th in Sydney Cup, 2nd in a MV Cup and he even ran in the Melbourne Cup last year. He will run out the 2800M here and looks ready to win at around $11, though may get back though from a wide barrier so will need a good ride. Box up a quinella with plenty of chances in an open field with the consistent on-speed 4-TEMPESTI, the roughie 18-BLACK PEPPERMINT who loves a tough staying contest and gets a massive weight drop here, the 9-AUTUMN MYSTERY only because we have been following him all spring and the lightly raced and improving 13-VEGAS JACK. BEST EACH WAY: Race 6: 3-TAVI TIME $5 EW QUINELLA: Race 6: 3,4,10,13 boxed x $3 = 50% Consistent Sydney miler with an excellent win strike rate and should be ready to win now with two runs this time in, which have both been good and he has been making good ground at the end of this races. He does tend to drop back, but seems to be plenty of speed here and drawn wide to come down the middle of the track which is his racing pattern. Each way at around $11 and box up a quinella with the 10-DARKBONEE who will be strong at the end of his race, the 4-SABAJ who needs to show his best form back in class and we want to throw in a super roughie here in the 13-NEW YORK HURRICANE at $81, he has been racing well and will be finishing on strongly out wide and will run a lot better than these odds suggests. BEST EACH WAY: Race 9: 12-BUTTERNUT PRINCESS $5 EW QUINELLA: Race 9: 12-BUTTERNUT PRINCESS#1,8,14,15 x $4 = 100% Probably the most unlucky horse of the spring, she has run up behind runners and been blocked for runs multiple times, especially at Caulfield. Stable might be up for a change of luck today after their star got blocked for runs on the weekend. Her strike rate isn’t the best, but love the set up here, drawn wide, track with some give, runners-on racing pattern and she can get to the outside here with no traffic issues and run on late. Each way at around $14 and anchor in a quinella with the main dangers the 8-TERILEE, 1-STYLISH and two random roughies in the 14-MILOS FILOS and 15-TOMATO TOASTIE. QUINELLA: Race 4: 1,2,5,7,8 boxed x $5 = 50% Just a throw at the stumps here in an impossible straight race, the 8-GIN TWIST can lead down the outside and has won down the straight before, the 1-BIG WIGS carries the Makybe Diva colours and has actually been racing well and doesn’t deserve to be $20, 2-THE SPEED MACHINE was good here last start, the 5-ASTON ran on well before a break and has trialled well and the 7-STRIKES PACKAGE should enjoy the big track here. MELBOURNE CUP TRIFECTA: Race 7: 20,24 / 11,15,20,22,24 / 2,6,10,11,12,14,15,17,19,20,22,24 x $10 = 12.5% Let’s have a crack at a Melbourne Cup trifecta with the main two chances to win, 24-SHOCKLETZ, 20-POINT OF LAW, the main dangers to run second and pretty much anything to run third and often something at stupid odds runs into the placings to blow out the dividend. BEST ROUGH: Race 2: 12-MR O’REILLY $3 EW Big field here, but this one should jump and lead and not sure there is going to be that much pressure up front in this. He started favourite last start and has been racing well this time in and he kicked last start before being run down late. Looks ready to win today going forward from a good barrier, but would want to get not bothered on-speed. Rough at around $18. BEST ROUGH: Race 10: 6-HE’LL RIP $3 EW Just keeps racing so consistently and he has been right in the finish his last two starts from a break, and has now placed 5 of his last 6 starts. Not having won for a while he gets a nice weight drop here, meeting the (1) 2.5 kgs better off and his Flemington stats are fantastic – placed 4 of 6 this track and distance. Likely to be in the finish again at around $20. LAY OF THE DAY: Race 2: 13-YAUSON at around $2.70 We might as well get this out of the way early in the day. This one has been racing really well and showing a fair bit of talent, but its Melbourne Cup day and there is no way we are backing a short-priced favourite in a field of 20 from barrier 20. May win, but just doesn’t see any value. TURF DELI WONDER BET: Here we try and turn $5 into a runner for next year’s Melbourne Cup. EARLY QUAD: Races 3,4,5,6: 2 / 1,2,5,7,8 / 2,4,18 / 3,4,10,13 x $5 = 8.33% Pretty keen on the best win bet of the day in the Race 3: 2-STAR OF MACEDON and just hope for the best after that. SUGGESTED QUADDIE: Races 7,8,9,10: 11,12,15,20,22,24 / 5,13 / 1,8,12 / 1,4,6,7,12 x $20 = 11.11% Go wide in the Melbourne Cup, you can narrow the second leg down to just two chances, some value runners in the selections in the third leg and go wide in the last leg and hope for a result. Feature Race Preview: THE MELBOURNE CUP 3200M GROUP 1 For the Melbourne Cup, there has been lots of to-ing and fro-ing with the Cup field with the vet checks over the last couple of weeks and they could probably run a consolation race with all the horses that were withdrawn, but these vet checks are vital to the safety of runners and much-needed. We are going to put our hand up and say we don’t particularly like doing the form for the Melbourne Cup anymore and struggle to have a serious bet in the race, it is just too hard to make sense of all the international form lines and hard to be passionate and engage with horses you know nothing about. We have a swag of international runners this year, including some having a local preparation for an international stable and five runners from the same stable, and then we have the seat fillers, horses with absolutely zero recent form who has previously qualified and are running to give their owners the thrill of having a Cup runner (and fair enough if you have a horse who is good enough to have a start you would take that opportunity). But once again, we are just not sure it makes for the most engaging contest, especially when it’s the one day a year the wider public really pays attention to horse racing. Fortunately there is a strong contingent of in-form and up and coming local stayers (well mainly ex-international) who we can follow and know their racing pattern, scope and ability. In terms of traditional form lines, the Bart Cummings 10,000M in preparation is well out the window with modern training methods, but it is always a plus to have winning form this time in coming into a feature Group 1 race. The Caulfield Cup, Cox Plate and Geelong Cup are always the strongest form lines for this race and it is worth noting that only 3 horses in the last 25 years have won without having a local start first, and plenty of high profile international names have attempted to do this – it is not easy at all. Unusually, only one of the first five runners home in the Caulfield Cup are going around again in the Melbourne Cup. Doing the form based on a SOFT(5) to SOFT(6) track and the speed here looks quite genuine this year, especially as we have a few internationals who will want to get out and go forward and rolling on the speed. The 6-ENJAAR will go forward here, suspect they will want to take an on-speed sit on the 7-ROYAL SUPREMACY after last start’s effort and they will go forward but try and sit just behind the speed. The 16-SO YOU ARE will be up and running behind these, with the 17-FUTURE HISTORY, and the 8-WINE DARK SEA all going forward. So plenty of options for the speed here and will take a little while to sort themselves out. The favourite the 20-POINT OF LAW should be able to get a perfect run here just in behind these once they have sorted out their order. Runner by Runner comments: 1-SONS AND LOVERS comes into this with the top weight from an international stable with 5 runners and not clear who is the A pick from this team. So now we go searching for what international race videos we can find. Well held by the winner last start when he presented but couldn’t go with that one, and he looks a very dour staying type. Drawn inside and not sure he has the early speed to go forward here and he may end up cluttered back in the big field which is not ideal, he looks like a clear room rolling type. Jockey is experienced in Australia and had some great rides and wins here when working locally. These overseas top weights have a pretty horrible record in the Melbourne Cup, as least this one isn’t well in the market but hard to get enthused about. Risking. 2-TRUSTYOURINSTINCT is an international with weight and drawn extremely wide which isn’t the best start, but he does have local jockey McDonald on board, coming off a bumper Derby Day. 7YO who is well exposed and normally these are not the type who do well in the Melbourne Cup. Looking at his videos he always seems to be strong to the line, but nearly all of his racing has been in small fields and he can still hang out and throw his head around. Drawn wide is probably a plus for this one, likely to drop back here and will be working home late down the middle of the track and the clear running will be important. Right in the betting market here and to be fair the betting markets has been getting these internationals wrong for a good 20 years now, but like that he is always strong at the end of his races. Place chance. 3-KNIGHT'S CHOICE won this race in 2024 at long odds and he has only managed one placing in 8 starts since, noting that he did have a long layoff in between as well. Form was extremely moderate coming into his Melbourne Cup win and really everything went right that day and a narrow gap opened up, but he was good enough to win. Does have to carry 5kgs more this time around. He has been slowly running into form this time in, and he hit the line well in the Herbert Power when he probably would have won with more luck, and dropping out the back in a stop start Caulfield Cup was never going to suit. Inside draw, but likely to drop back and need to weave through the field again. Unlikely to win, but horses who race well in this race often do so again at subsequent years so would put him in as a place chance. Place. 4-MIDDLE EARTH has been hard to follow, he burst onto the scene with a great first run in Australia, and then he really didn’t measure up for a while before a great run in the Melbourne Cup last year to finish 3rd. He loomed up like the winner last year. Finally got an Australian win on the board over the QLD winter. He has been slowly running into form this spring and the obvious target has been this race and likely to be set to peak today. Was working home just OK in the Caulfield Cup, and then put in a great Melbourne Cup trial in the Cox Plate, making really good ground late from the back of the field. Horses that run well in the Cup often can back up and go well again. Barrier 1 is a major negative in our view, he is a drop back and run on horse and he wants to be coming on down the middle of the track, not trying to pick out runs through the field. Stable is winning everything at the moment. Would go into the selections if not for the barrier but still rates well here. Chance. 5-VAUBAN is now having his fourth crack at the Melbourne Cup, having finished 14th in 2023 at $5.50 and 11th in 2024 at $8 when trained overseas and then finishing 6th last year when trained locally (but he was beaten 9L there). Right in the finish of his staying trips mid-year, but only given the one lead in run this year which is a very unusual preparation for the Waterhouse stable, who normally have their hard and race-fit. Every chance sitting just off the speed in the Geelong Cup when well beaten, and hard to see that run being good enough to be a factor here. Drawn wide too and likely to end up at the back of the field. Passing. 6-ENFJAAR ran third in the Caulfield Cup as an international and we can line up how he is going and he is actually the highest place getter to go on and run in this race. Got a really nice run into the race before the turn there and stuck on in the straight pretty well. Previous international win was a pretty solid staying effort to lead and win at Goodwood. He looks to need to roll and maintain his stride and he has drawn well here so will be up and rolling on the speed, if not leading, and get every chance and the extra distance is likely to suit. International jockey on board, has never ridden at Flemington, but double check that yourself. Surprised he is $21 here, good international form, good run in the Caulfield Cup, good barrier and rolling on-speed in a solid staying contest he looks a genuine chance in this. Genuine chance. 7-ROYAL SUPREMACY has been racing really well and consistently over the last year and he was really unlucky in the Caulfield Cup last year when he missed the start and couldn’t take up his normal on-speed position and was weaving through the pack late. Didn’t really settle in the race last year when not a factor. Found form quickly second up this time in when well backed to lead and win in the JRA Cup and then international jockey gave him no chance in the Caulfield Cup leading and stopping and starting the speed and he was quickly looped and beaten. Drawn wide here but surely goes forward to be up on the speed as his normal racing pattern. Think he is weighted right up to his best here and coming into this 3200M race off only 3 runs this time in looks a query, as does the 3200M. Would need a really good sit with cover to run out the trip and can’t see that happening from the barrier. Passing. 8-WINE DARK SEA is an international runner who has had the one run in Australia so we can line up how he is going from the Caulfield Cup – he went forward there but he didn’t show much at all and was quickly beaten and given he was $8 in the market definitely expected better. International form shows that he can race on-speed and he has shown in the few videos we can see that he can really extend away from them too, but he may be a more dour staying type. Drawn wide and likely to go forward. Appears to be very little interest in the market here compared to what odds he started in the Caulfield Cup and would need a strong positive market push before seriously considering him. Not off that last run. No 9-ASTERIX is a genuine enough stayer who has won some good races in Sydney and Brisbane, but has only managed one third in six starts down in Melbourne. He has been slowly building into his preparation this time in, promising run first-up, then in the finish in a strong form Naturalism, but he has dropped to last his last two runs and only worked home fairly. Well drawn here and you would think they would settle handier today? Only try this distance was a 4th in the Auckland Cup in 2024. Handles it wet. He is probably going better than his last two starts suggest, but form doesn’t look good enough to be a factor here. No. 10-GOODIE TWO SHOES ran 2nd in this race last year and often horses who race well can come back and do it again, so at least we know he handles the trip and the conditions. He actually hit the lead about 200M out last year and only the winner who was flying at the time got past him and he beat the rest of the field quite clearly. Carried 51.5 last year and up to 55kgs this year. His form this time in hasn’t been quite as good as last year, and he has been settling further back in the field, whereas he raced on-speed in this race last year. Same jockey as last year. Drawn wide, but he came from a wide barrier last year and you would think they will go forward again. Tougher task this year and probably isn’t going as well, but worth thought as a horse who has raced well here before. Place. 11-JUJA KIBO is an up and coming stayer with an excellent win strike rate and if a local is to win this race that is the type of horse you want. Ran past some good horses in the Metropolitan, and the effort to win the MV Cup was excellent, coming from last on the turn with a strong staying effort down the middle of the track and fighting out the finish with the (22). He showed a very nice turn of foot there. Struck trouble in the Sydney Cup this year when he didn’t factor in the finish, and his form outside that over the 2400M to 2600M range is outstanding – 8 starts for 3 wins and 4 placings and the miss was on a heavy track. Drawn wide and he can race handy normally so you would want them to settle midfield or better and not drop out the back here. Unknown at 3200M and would want a soft run with cover. Lightly raced, winning form and one on the way up and goes in as a strong chance in this. Strong chance. 12-HOPEWELL ROCK is a lightly raced international who has also drawn wide. Great win two starts back where he ran into the finish under a hold and cleared out chased by one who has since run well in the Geelong Cup. Handled the big field in the Ebor well last start and waited for the gap to come and showed a turn of foot to accelerate into the finish. That’s probably the sort of horse you want for the Melbourne Cup. Think this is likely the one international the money will come for in the next few days leading into the race and he will start under $10. Goes in as a genuine winning chance. Chance. 13-ONESMOOTHOPERATOR was impressive winning the Geelong Cup in 2024 and he was right in the market in the Melbourne Cup that year when it was only fair mid-field effort. Came back for a MV Cup win last year before again not doing very much in this race. Now in a local stable and has had a few runs this time in, but he hasn’t really made any ground or done much to get punters interested. Was in winning form coming into this race in 2024 and 2025 and he just wasn’t competitive, so hard to see how he can be competitive this year coming off a 13th, 9th and 11th. No. 14-SOUL OF SPAIN is a tough staying type who has had a nice long five start preparation to get ready for this. Took off early in the Caulfield Cup to inject some speed into the race and he was already beaten on the turn, but stuck on fair enough in the straight. Did run second in the Sydney Cup over 3200M this year and he was the one chasing an all the way leader and he was closing nicely on the line. Won over 3300M as an international before racing in Australia. His form once he gets to 2400M and beyond is pretty good actually, hard to see him winning this, but a nice barrier here and they don’t really need to do much with him, just settle and let him grind away in the straight and he is probably a rough place chance. Rough place. 15-ZAHRANN is a lightly raced and promising stayer who has found form quickly since coming to Australia. Good first preparation and he has gone on with it this time in, finishing on well first-up and then winning a very competitive Naturalism out wide and with a strong finish. Totally forgive the Turnbull Stakes heavy track run, and then he was involved in the scuffle on the turn in the Caulfield Cup and spent some time looking for runs and he made good ground late hard against the rails. Pay attention to good Caulfield Cup runs coming into this race. He has a nice turn of foot so he can run into the finish here with some cover in the run. He is a bit of an unknown factor here, we don’t know about a solid staying 3200M but he has the turn of foot to win a race like this. Maybe a strong staying 3200M may be a query? Rough chance. 16-SO YOU ARE has been on a winning streak, winning his last four starts and nothing better than winning form coming into a feature Group 1. Has disappointed in his previous runs in Melbourne, but he wasn’t going as well then. Strong on-speed wins this time in, and kicked clear with weight to win the Bendigo Cup and drops 4kgs into this race. Nice barrier and likely to go forward here, but there are quite a few possible leaders in this race this year and it does look like a genuine tempo. Also likely they will be winning off the rails by the time this race is run. Wet no issue and 3200M the question mark for this one. Just suspect something stronger at the end of the distance will run over the top of them late and prefer place for this one. Place only. 17-FUTURE HISTORY is a genuine enough stayer who is well exposed and we know where he fits into the staying order. Win strike rate is still pretty good coming up to 50 starts and he just loves to jump and settle handy and keep grinding away, he is very difficult to run down when he gets his own way in front. Gets into the field off the bench thanks to some of the veterinary removals. Chased really hard in the JRA Cup, and then just plugged away last two starts when the he took more of a sit and think he is definitely best racing right on the speed and dictating the tempo. Won the Bagot over 2800M here in 2025. He ran in this race in 2023 and wasn’t a factor and his form was pretty good coming into that race, but the international jockey rode a shocker and went far too fast in the lead and gave him no chance - so totally forget that run. He will be a speed factor here and will go forward and often those sort of horses can race well whilst all the others get too far back and make it too difficult to get into the race. Rough place only, but a good one for a value trifecta. 18-JAMES J BRADDOCK has drawn the widest barrier but has jockey Williams on board to offset that. Extremely lightly raced and coming into this off two sixths which is hardly scintillating form, but these lightly raced and lightly weighted internationals do have a good record in this race. Bought by Australian connections and do wonder if this is more a long term project and prospect? Drawn wide and likely to drop back here, but to be honest we have zero idea about this one, so not going to be spending punting dollars on something we know nothing about. Leaving out. 19-KIZLYAR is the longest odds of the international runners, which normally means he is the one that is going to race the best. Lightly raced with good career stats and good form coming into his Australian journey, but he was well backed and started favourite in the MV Cup and was extremely disappointing. Raced on speed there but was struggling before the turn and hard to see them turning around that form in one start. Drawn wide and probably wants to go forward and a more genuine tempo will suit, but likely to get caught wide here as well. He won at Ascot three starts back sitting wide in clear running and likely to get a similar run here. Suspect he is actually going to run a lot better than his previous Australia start, but hard to seriously push for. Throw into wider exotics as a rough place chance. Rough place. 20-POINT OF LAW was purchased off King Charles himself down at the local boozer and transferred to a local stable. Northern hemisphere 3YO and these horses have had a good recent record in this race and most importantly he has had a local run so we can line up how he is traveling – and he is travelling extremely well. Right up on the speed last start and chasing the leader and he kicked for home and took control of the race in a strong staying effort in fast time and the Geelong Cup form often holds up here. Drawn well and likely to go forward here and race handy and get every chance. Most of his overseas racing was in small fields, so be interesting to see how he goes with a field of 24 today, would want to see him in clear running up near the speed and not cluttered up between runners. International 3YO horse, winning form in Australia this time in, light weight and racing on speed he definitely looks the one to beat and to be favourite – surprised he is not shorter to be honest. Strong chance. 21-STRICTLY BUSINESS fits in the seat warmer category and was astounding us all last spring when she managed to win the VRC Oaks at only start number three which is unheard of and she looked to have massive staying potential. Hasn’t won in 7 starts since, though she did go very close in the SA Derby. Has started long odds every time this preparation and just hasn’t got warm at all. No recent form so really hard to make a case for her in this and probably deserves to be a lot longer than $81. No 22-MR MONACO is one we have been following and he seems a really tough genuine stayer, who maintains a good win strike rate which is important. Go back and watch his two wins in Sydney last preparation, they were both tough staying slogs he was wide and in three horse wars and he came out on top each time – he just stays. Flemington win to qualify for this race was similar, he was up contesting the lead on the turn and stayed out the trip well and then he was similarly tough in the MV Cup when only narrowly beaten. Gets a nice weight drop from last start into this and love that he has had a proper stayer preparation. Apprentice jockey on board in his first Melbourne Cup. Give in the ground will be a plus for this one. Drawn wide and question is if they go forward or not, think ridden forward to settle midfield or better he will just keep fighting and fighting and be in the finish here, think dropping back he will probably face a challenge. Really like his form and this staying toughness. Genuine chance. 23-ZAKOUMA won his way into this race with the Ramsden win back mid-year so this preparation has all been about today and the Melbourne Cup. Been building into spring, finished on well first two starts this time in and then was only fair in the Herbert Power when he loomed into the race like the winner but didn’t finish it off. Interesting tactic to drop back for a 1600M hit out as the lead up for this race – has any horse ever won the Melbourne Cup off a last start 1600M run? Doubt it. Pike on board, loves Flemington and he has put in some massive wins here. Does tend to drop back in the run and he may end up at the back of the field here and need luck getting into the race. On his best form he would be a factor in this, not sure he has shown his best form this time in, but also aware he doesn’t have to do anything until today. Rough only. 24-SHOCKLETZ has had this race in her sight for some time now and everyone has been waiting to see what she can do in the Melbourne Cup, with helicopter parent SHOCKING looking on as a previous winner. Outstanding Flemington stats having won three times here. Been given a nice long preparation to get ready for this which is a plus. Tough staying win here in the Archer, was working home really nicely in the Herbert Power and then a very nice clean-up run here in the Tesio over 2000M. Great win strike rate, handles it wet, loves Flemington and will run out the distance, maybe just don’t want her to drop too far back from an outside barrier, but she will be coming down the middle of the track in the best ground late. If there is any knock, she hasn’t really beaten much in her victories and she often hasn’t really raced as a stayer, often been kept for 1600m to 2000M races, but maybe they are keeping her fresh for this – the three times she has got to 2500M she has won them all. This is what the Melbourne Cup is all about, watching and following a horse for several years as they gradually build up in class and distance and finally get their chance and everyone is going to be fascinated to see what she can do here and will be invested in her chances. Strong chance and one of the hardest to beat. Summary: We look to have a very genuine tempo this year and think those with cover coming through late will be the way to go and the one that stands out is the 24-SHOCKLETZ and we get to see what she can do over the Flemington 3200M today. She has been building towards this day for a few years now and really like the form she has shown this time in, versatile and being competitive over 2000M last start to get ready for this. Strong staying test down the middle of the track off a strong tempo, and she may outstay them with a light weight. The international favourite the 20-POINT OF LAW is the obvious danger, coming off an excellent win in a strong form race and also likely to get the perfect run into the race here just behind the speed. We are going to put the 22-MR MONACO in for third, mainly because he is one we have been following, but he just looks like he just stays all day, he may prefer some more give in the ground and will need a good ride to not settle too far back. Of the rest the 15-ZAHRANN is the best roughie and seems to have been forgotten about in this race and he is a bit untapped, and respecting the winning form of 11-JUJA KIBO. Best of the internationals is the 12-HOPEWELL ROCK.
