Oaks Day Eye Opener - Yet More Value Winners

Our good form from Cup Day continued onto Oaks day with yet more value winners. There is nothing better than to start the day with a left of centre, $16 winner on top in the first race. Mainly cause those silly Williams stable runners always start far too short, so there is no point in tipping them – or backing them.

Overall, from 9 races, there were 2 winners on top, and 5 winners in the selections :

Race 1 : 12-THE BIG STEEL 1st W=$16.30 - top pick
Race 4 : 6-CURTANA 1st W=$3.50 - top pick, QUIN = $23.60
Race 5 : 15-KING COBWEB 1st W=$14.30 - nice value winner
Race 6 : 2 -BRAZILIAN PULSE 1st W=$2.70
Race 9 : 8-NIBLICK 1st W=$3.50, QUIN = $37.90

The Betting Portfolio doubled up with a few nice each way bets. Unfortunately there were a few scratchings and only one of them landed, but it was our best bet of the day and was enough to almost break even.

BEST BET : Race 4: 6-CURTANA $20 WIN 1st W=$3.50 = $70

Plus we scored some points with the Lay of the Day, who started equal favourite and ran pretty much as predicted. She kicked clear half way down the straight and was looking good, but stopped badly.

LAY OF THE DAY : Race 7 : 2-ZUBBAYA at around $4 10th W=$4.80 fav

...last time she went past the 1600M, 2 starts back here, she compounded over the last 200M...

The Betting Portfolio continues to keep it's nose ahead, 15 weeks for 8 profits, 4 returns and 3 wipe outs and a running profit of +$330.45

ADOPT A JOCKEY
___________________________________________

Come Spring time these cute little cuddly fellas are always so popular.

Everyone wants one or wants to look like one at the fancy dress Melbourne Cup BBQ.

Remember a jockey is not just for Spring Carnival.

At the end of every Cup Week unloved jockeys are often just left abandoned on the steps of the local TAB.

So think about adopting a jockey. They are available in a wide range of silks / colour schemes so they can make a great garden feature.
